Community Training Centre

Community Training Centres provide a unique opportunity for young people to finish their secondary level education in a way that works better for them. Being part of Youth-Reach, we are aware that mainstream school does not suit every young person.

We are very experienced at tailored our training to suit the individual needs, interests and ambitions of young people aged between 16-21 years and we will ensure they achieve their full potential. Our training is based on the QQI (FETAC) system and we offer four major awards.

What the CTC can offer people

Many young people love animals and in particular horses. Our equine training modules enable us to combine a young person’s love for animals with achieving a QQI level 4 major award. We offer a lot of extracurricular activities as part of our training programme. We work closely with the youth services on site and we regularly get involved in their outdoor education programmes and activities.

Our numbers are low compared with secondary schools and this enables us to offer a lot more individual time and support to each Learner.

We offer a range of specialist supports including literacy, numeracy, counselling, career guidance and employability mentoring. Every year we attend a wide range of college open days and there is always something to suit everyone.
